The assignment

Four years ago I walked into McQuaid Jesuit for the first time as a freshman. I had no idea what to expect. Indeed, even my expectations were completely wrong. When walking into that building I had no idea that the next four years would have me doing things I never imagined me doing, all headed toward a final goal: graduation and continuation onto college.

Now only two obstacles remain: 4th quarter senior year and capstone. The first will be no problem and requires no more explanation.

Capstone, however, is a term that not many people may be familiar with. Capstone is Mcquaid's version of the final project. They release us out into the wild to perform at least 25 hours of service and put together a reflection on the process.

That's where this blog comes in. I have strengths in writing and blogging, and I can't do powerpoint to save my life, so I decided to do a blog as my reflection. This allows me to get my thoughts out as they happen (or the same day at least), and play off my strengths.

The next month and a half will be very tumultuous, but this blog will give some clarity to the insanity that is the last month of senior year.

P.S. In case you were puzzled about the title of this blog: a capstone in architecture is the last piece of a building, the top. In this case the capstone project is the last piece to MY pyramid.
